El cáñamo es una de las fibras vegetales que se utilizó tradicionalmente para la realización de cuerdas de amarre, para refuerzos, para cerramientos y demás apoyo a los sistemas constructivos tradicionales, además de la cestería.
Con el interés de conocer cómo se trabaja actualmente el cáñamo en elementos constructivos, tuve la oportuniodad de contactar con CANNABRIC, quienes realizan bloques de cáñamo entre otros productos para construcción.

The hemp is one of the vegetable fibers that was used traditionally for the accomplishment of ropes of mooring, for reinforcements, for enclosures and other support to the traditional constructive systems, besides the basketwork.
With the interest to know how the hemp works at the moment in constructive elements, I had the opportuniodad to contact with CANNABRIC, who realizes blocks of hemp among other products for construction.

Desde la ficha técnica que ofrecen en su página web se pueden extraer datos técnicos como los siguientes:
Cannabric es un bloque macizo para la construcción a base de cáñamo, que se fabrica desde 1999 en Guadix (Granada) y que posee altas prestaciones térmicas, acústicas y bioclimáticas. El bloque de cáñamo ha sido desarrollado para su posible empleo en muros de carga monocapa.
El componente principal del bloque Cannabric es la parte leñosa del cáñamo, una planta de usos muy versátiles y de rápido crecimiento, cultivada desde milenios. Mejora los suelo, no precisa pesticidas ni herbicidas y todas sus partes son aprovechables, no solo para aplicaciones de construcción pero también de textil, de papel, de alimentación, de cosmética, de farmacología, del diseño industrial.
Se pueden emplear hasta 10 toneladas de cáñamo en una vivienda de 100 m2, o sea 100 kg de cáñamo en cada m2 construido.

The main component of the Cannabric block is the woody part of hemp, a very versatile and fast-growing plant, cultivated since millennia. It improves the soil, does not require pesticides or herbicides and all its parts are usable, not only for construction applications but also for textile, paper, food, cosmetics, pharmacology and industrial design.
