LAS FIBRAS DE RATÁN (II)

La segunda parte de la visita a la Espartería J. Sanchez tiene que ver con el trabajo realizado con ratán. 

El ratán se utiliza de diferentes formas y en la Espartería se puede obtener desde una pieza entera hasta en fibras llamadas médula que es una tira del interior del ratán con sección circular, fibras llamadas tireta que se extraen de la corteza del ratán y tienen sección rectangular; y también esterillas que son tejidos hexagonales planos realizados con tireta. 

RATTAN FIBERS

The second part of the visit to the Sanchez Esparteria has to do with the work done with rattan.
The rattan is used in different ways and in the Esparteria can be obtained from a whole piece even in fibers called médula which is a strip of the interior of the rattan with circular section, fibers called tireta that are extracted from the bark of the rattan and have rectangular section ; And also mats that are flat hexagonal weaving made with tireta.

 

Juan realizó durante mi visita la reparación de una silla con una rejilla de ratán que es un trabajo artesanal y de carpintería. Para ello se utiliza tanto la médula como la tireta, ya que la esterilla es un tejido de fibras de tireta y la médula se coloca en una junta que tienen las sillas para ajustar y estabilizar la esterilla.

Juan realized during my visit the repair of a chair with a grid of rattan that is a craftsmanship and carpentry work. This is done using both the marrow and the trowel, since the mat is a tissue of fibers and the marrow is placed in a joint that have the chairs to adjust and stabilize the mat.
